Alex Morgan and Servando Carrasco Announce Third Child on the Way

When Alex Morgan stepped away from professional soccer in September 2024, she made it clear that family came first. Now, eight months into retirement, the former U.S. Women's National Team superstar and her husband Servando Carrasco have announced they're expecting their third child together.

The couple shared the news on social media just ahead of Mother's Day — a perfectly timed reveal for an athlete who deliberately walked away from the pitch at age 35 to spend more time with her growing family. Morgan had already disclosed her second pregnancy when she announced her retirement from San Diego Wave FC, stating that three decades devoted to soccer was sufficient. This third pregnancy comes shortly after the birth of their second child, Enzo Michael Carrasco, who arrived in late March 2025.

A legendary career set aside

Morgan's decision to retire wasn't born from declining performance or injury — she was stepping away while still at the pinnacle of the sport. Her trophy cabinet tells the story: two FIFA Women's World Cup championships (2015, 2019), an Olympic gold medal from London 2012, and a UEFA Women's Champions League title with Olympique Lyonnais Féminin in 2017. She wasn't fading into obscurity; she was choosing a different path while still capable of competing at elite level.

Her husband Servando Carrasco spent his entire playing career in Major League Soccer following his 2011 draft selection by Seattle Sounders. The midfielder journeyed through numerous clubs including New York Red Bulls, Vancouver Whitecaps, Houston Dynamo, Sporting Kansas City, Orlando City, LA Galaxy, and Fort Lauderdale CF before hanging up his boots after the 2020 campaign. Though he never secured a permanent starting position, Carrasco maintained a respectable ten-year professional tenure.

The couple's eldest daughter, Charlie Elena Carrasco, celebrated her fifth birthday on May 7. By year's end, the Carrasco-Morgan household will be home to three children under one roof.

Morgan established herself as one of the transformative figures who elevated women's soccer into a commercially successful enterprise across North America. Her playing days are definitively finished. But according to her own words, that was always the intention.
