Out of legal recourse

Leicester recognized this reality in their official response: "With the matter now at an end and five games of the season remaining, everyone at the club is fully focused on the matches in front of us."

It's the appropriate message under the circumstances. More importantly, it's their only option moving forward.

Monday's 1-1 stalemate against bottom-dwelling Sheffield Wednesday now carries additional weight. That match represented a golden opportunity to escape the danger zone. They failed to capitalize. Against opponents who have appeared destined for relegation for months, Leicester could only manage a single point that keeps them dangerously close to the drop.

A one-point cushion means one poor performance could plunge Leicester into the relegation positions, and anything less than a strong finish puts their survival in serious jeopardy.
